The Udu All Progressives Congress (APC) Media Team has organised a digitalisation symposium aimed at promoting digital literacy, technology-driven governance and economic empowerment in Udu Local Government Area of Delta State.

The 2026 Udu Digitalisation Symposium, held under the theme, “Udu Digitalisation,” brought together political leaders, technology experts, community stakeholders, students and party members to deliberate on the role of technology in driving development and strengthening grassroots political participation.

The Chairman of the occasion, Mr Austin Obulu, Managing Director of Azerf Global Marine Services Limited, commended the organisers for convening what he described as a timely and forward-looking programme.

Obulu said digital integration had become essential to socio-economic development, governance and political engagement in the contemporary society.

He urged stakeholders in Udu to embrace technological innovation and explore its potential to create opportunities for young people and improve the efficiency of local administration.

The symposium featured presentations by Amb. Comrade Oliver Eyefia, Activist Dr Kehinde Prince Taiga, Chief Dcn. Nigeria Okorode, Comrade Ogbe Collins, Comrade Joseph Eyovwerhuvwu and Mr Michael Adanlawo.

The speakers examined various ways technology could be deployed to promote local commerce, improve administrative efficiency, create employment opportunities for youths and strengthen digital communication within the community and the APC.

They also highlighted the importance of digital media in promoting transparency, political participation, information dissemination and grassroots mobilisation.

Speaking at the event, the Coordinator of the Udu APC Media Team, Comrade Godwin Unity Erhuvwuoghene, expressed appreciation to the Udu Local Council authorities, APC leadership, the chairman of the occasion, speakers, dignitaries and participants for their support.

Erhuvwuoghene said the successful organisation of the symposium represented a significant step towards improving communication, empowering youths and promoting technological advancement in Udu.

He said the Udu APC Media Team would continue to support initiatives and conversations aimed at positioning residents of the area to take advantage of opportunities in the digital economy.

A major highlight of the event was a quiz competition involving students of Ubogo Secondary School and Adadja Grammar School.

The competition attracted a total cash prize of N150,000, which was shared among the winners and participants.

The symposium ended with the adoption of resolutions aimed at establishing localised digital training programmes, strengthening media outreach and encouraging partnerships to bridge the technology gap in Udu Local Government Area.
