Nigerian-American artiste Samsix, born Samson Adeniran Bademosi, is celebrating a major milestone after his song, “Nobody,” topped a YouTube chart, marking a significant moment in his more than 12-year music journey.

Samsix, who is based in the United States but frequently travels between America and Nigeria for his music and promotional activities, said the achievement means a great deal to him after years of consistently releasing music on YouTube.

“My song being recognized at top of the Charts on YouTube actually means a lot to me because I have been dropping music on YouTube consistently for around over 12 years so to finally get this top charting song on YouTube is a good break for someone who has been pushing for so long,” he said.

The singer, who is also the grandson of late Nigerian theatre icon Hubert Ogunde, explained that “Nobody” was inspired by pain and heartbreak. He believes the emotional theme of the song has helped it connect with listeners who have experienced similar situations.

“Nobody is song about pain or hearbreak which is very relatable to everyone and that connects directly to the hearts of people because he has a lot of emotional energy and it puts the listener in the space of being uplifted and moving of from such sad emotions,” Samsix said.

According to him, the song was also an outlet for emotions he had carried for years, particularly memories of past experiences and relationships.

“Nobody once again is a song about sad vibes so memories of things I’ve been through in the past and also past relationships with people drove to the point letting it all out all at once with one major song after the build up of emotions for so many years and that song is called ‘Nobody’,” he said.

With the success of “Nobody,” Samsix said listeners should expect more music from him, revealing that he has several unreleased songs waiting for the right opportunity to be shared with the public.

“Fans should expect a lot more very good quality and hit songs coming soon because I have so many unreleased songs that need to be released to the world I’m just waiting for the right opportunity and time,” he said.
