Super Falcons
Expectations of excellence from the Super Falcons should also be matched with the excellence of the government’s pledge to the team.
Beyond the miserable preparation of the team how can anyone justify the failure of the Ministry of finance to credit the players’ accounts one year after the president’s sign off of his 100k US dollars equivalent reward to each member of the team.
The performance of the captain in this tournament was totally out of sorts and as they say when the leader can’t find the inspiration she becomes like salt sans salinity. These Super Falcons were a clear shadow of themselves and could this happen within so short a spell. From Africa’s three time best Keeper Chiamaka to skipper Ajibade, these Super Falcons could no longer listen to the falconer and things were bound to fall apart.
Now the real inquest begins and perhaps stretches on the realisation that our game needs to be reframed and drained away from principalities who have become killjoys in the last eight years.
