Several Android phones are set to stop receiving software and security updates in 2026 as they reach the end of their official support periods.

While manufacturers such as Google and Samsung now offer up to seven years of updates on some newer devices, older models have shorter support cycles. Using a phone that no longer receives security updates can leave it more vulnerable to threats.

Here are some of the Android phones expected to lose support in 2026.

Google Pixel 6 and Pixel 6 Pro

Launched in October 2021 with Android 12, the Pixel 6 and Pixel 6 Pro were promised five years of Android and security updates. Their official support is expected to end in October 2026.

Owners looking to upgrade can consider newer models such as the Pixel 10 series or the Pixel 8 Pro.

Motorola Moto G Stylus 5G (2023)

The Moto G Stylus 5G (2023) was released in June 2023 with Android 13. Motorola promised one major Android update and three years of security updates.

The phone is therefore expected to stop receiving official support by the end of June 2026.

Possible replacements include the 2026 Moto G Stylus and Nothing Phone (4a) Pro.

OnePlus 10T

The OnePlus 10T, launched in August 2022 with OxygenOS 13 based on Android 12, was promised three major Android updates and four years of security updates.

Its support is expected to end in August 2026. Users can consider newer OnePlus models or alternatives such as Samsung’s Galaxy A57 5G and Galaxy S25 FE.

Sony Xperia 5 V

Sony’s Xperia 5 V, released in 2023 with Android 13, is expected to reach the end of its security support on August 1, 2026.

The phone received Android 14 and Android 15, with Android 15 being its final major OS update.

Users looking to upgrade can consider newer models such as the Samsung Galaxy S26 series, OnePlus 15 or Pixel 10 Pro.

Other Sony phones from 2023, including the Xperia 1 V and Xperia 10 V, have also reached the end of their official support periods.

Motorola Edge (2023)

The Motorola Edge (2023) was launched in October 2023 with Android 13. Motorola promised two years of operating system updates and three years of security updates.

The phone is expected to stop receiving updates by the end of September 2026.

Possible replacements include the Pixel 10a, Pixel 10 and Samsung Galaxy A57 5G, while Motorola users could consider the newer Motorola Edge (2026).
