Veteran Nollywood actress Ayo Adesanya has revealed that she has chosen to stay away from romantic relationships for the past two to three years.

The actress made this known during an appearance on Spills and Thrills Show, where she opened up about her decision to embrace a life without romantic commitments.

According to Adesanya, her relationship with Jesus Christ has influenced her outlook on love and companionship, noting that there comes a point when one can decide to stop pursuing relationships.

“I don’t do relationships anymore. With your work with Jesus, at some point you will just say, ‘I am done,’” she said.

The actress acknowledged that people sometimes experience loneliness but explained that she has reached a stage where being in a romantic relationship doesn’t bother her.

“People get lonely. I’m not saying I sometimes don’t get lonely. It gets to a point where it doesn’t bother you any longer,” she added.

Adesanya disclosed that she has been on what she described as a “no relationship journey” for about two to three years. She, however, admitted that she still receives romantic advances from admirers on a daily basis.

“I have toasters, that’s the truth. People ask me out on a daily basis,” she said.

The actress also recalled the attention she received following an earlier interview with actor and matchmaker Lege Miami, during which she spoke about looking for a boyfriend.

According to her, the comments generated considerable reactions, as many people were unsure whether she was being serious or joking.

“The interview I had with Lege, where I said I was looking for a boyfriend, caused a lot of problems. People were calling me. They didn’t know if I was serious or joking,” Adesanya said.
