Governor Ademola Adeleke’s infrastructure drive in Ifeland has been attributed to his electoral success in Ife Federal Constituency comprising of Ife-North, Ife-South, Ife-Central and Ife-South Local Government Areas.
Governor Adeleke in the just concluded governorship election ganered 75,758 to win the federal constituency which contributed to his overall victory in the poll.
Meanwhile, the Special Adviser to Governor Ademola Adeleke on Sustainable Development Goals and Multilateral Relations, Bamikole Omisore, did not just commend the populace, but urged them to keep their support intact for the governor as he approaches second dispensation.
Omisore, in a statement on Friday, described the result from Ifeland as a vote of unity and confidence in Governor Adeleke’s leadership to deliver more dividends of democracy to the people of Ife.
He also attributed Adeleke’s victory in the constituency to his sterling performance as a significant political transformation in the ancient city, particularly in Ife-East, which he said moved from a deficit of 1,282 votes recorded in 2022 to 27,201 votes on August 15th.
This unified support of 75,758 votes from all zones of Ile-Ife demonstrates the people’s confidence in Governor Adeleke’s vision and leadership. The victory we are celebrating is not Ile-Ife’s alone. It belongs to all the sons and daughters of Osun State who believed in Governor Adeleke’s vision and worked tirelessly to deliver this mandate,” he said.
The Adeleke’s aide commended youths, students, traders, farmers, professionals, political leaders and community elders in Ile-Ife for their contributions to the electoral victory.
He equally commended the traditional institution in Ile-Ife, particularly the Ooni of Ife, for what he described as its contribution to a peaceful and orderly electoral process.
He expressed optimism that Adeleke would use their second term to implement projects and policies that would improve infrastructure, economic opportunities, youth empowerment and other areas of development in Ile-Ife.
He urged the people of Ile-Ife and Osun State to sustain the spirit of unity that characterised the election, stressing that the electoral mandate had placed a responsibility on the re-elected administration to deliver on its promises.
“To every sons and daughters of Ile-Ife, and indeed to all the people of Osun State, you have spoken collectively. You have chosen the path of unity and progress, against all odds. Now, we must all work together to ensure that Governor Adeleke’s second term transforms our aspirations into reality. The journey continues—not just for Ile Ife, but for all of Osun State,” Omisore added.
