Housing Development Programme expands reach, partners News Central for weekly broadcast

By Kingsley Adegboye

Housing TV Africa has announced a strategic broadcast collaboration with News Central Television for its flagship Housing Development Programme, in a move aimed at expanding housing advocacy, public enlightenment and stakeholder engagement across Nigeria.

Under the new arrangement, Housing Development Programme will air every Sunday at 5:00 p.m. on News Central Television, DStv Channel 422 and GOtv Channel 23.

The programme will also have a repeat broadcast every Saturday at 7:00 p.m. on Housing TV Africa on the FreeTV platform, giving viewers another opportunity to follow key conversations shaping Nigeria’s housing, mortgage, real estate and construction sectors.

The News Central collaboration represents a significant expansion for a programme that has already built a strong broadcast legacy in Nigeria’s housing sector.

Housing Development Programme has been on Africa Independent Television (AIT) for the past 10 years and continues to air on AIT at 11:00 a.m. on weekdays.

Its long-running presence on AIT has helped establish the programme as a trusted media platform for housing advocacy, policy dialogue, stakeholder engagement and public education on issues affecting the built environment.

The new collaboration with News Central Television therefore strengthens an already established media platform and provides an additional opportunity to take critical housing conversations to a wider national and continental audience.

According to Housing TV Africa, the expanded broadcast arrangement is designed to provide a stronger platform for discussions on affordable housing, mortgage finance, housing policy, real estate investment, construction, land administration, urban development, building materials and other critical issues affecting the built environment.

The Chief Executive Officer of Housing TV Africa, Festus Adebayo said the collaboration represents an important step in taking housing conversations to a wider audience and ensuring that housing remains a major national development priority.

He said the programme would continue to serve as a platform for government agencies, housing institutions, developers, mortgage operators, investors, manufacturers, professional bodies and other industry stakeholders to communicate their interventions, projects, products and services to the public.

Adebayo noted that the programme would place particular emphasis on public education and helping Nigerians better understand the opportunities available within the country’s housing and mortgage ecosystem.

According to him, institutions involved in housing delivery and housing finance will also have the opportunity to showcase projects, explain financing programmes, highlight policy interventions and share measurable impact with Nigerians.

As part of the expanded programme, Housing TV Africa has also introduced a special segment titled “Housing Manifesto.”

The segment will provide political leaders and aspirants seeking elective office with a platform to explain their housing, mortgage, land, urban development and homeownership plans to Nigerians.

Housing TV Africa said the initiative is intended to elevate housing as a major issue in political discourse ahead of future elections and encourage citizens to demand clear and measurable housing commitments from those seeking public office.

Adebayo said political leaders should be able to explain how they intend to increase housing supply, improve access to mortgages, address land and infrastructure challenges and make decent housing more affordable.

He added that the programme would also work with leading housing and finance institutions to develop dedicated impact series that can educate the public and demonstrate how major housing interventions are affecting ordinary Nigerians.

Housing TV Africa is therefore inviting government institutions, mortgage banks, housing finance organisations, developers, manufacturers, professional bodies, financial institutions, investors and other stakeholders in the built environment to partner with and participate in the programme.

Partnership opportunities will include executive interviews, project showcases, institutional features, product and service visibility, public enlightenment campaigns, beneficiary stories, documentary features and dedicated weekly television segments.

According to the organisation, the objective is to move beyond conventional advertising by creating a sustained communication platform through which housing-sector institutions can explain their work, build public confidence and deepen engagement with consumers and industry stakeholders.

Housing TV Africa said selected programme content would also be amplified across its digital and social media platforms, extending the reach of key housing conversations beyond conventional television audiences.

The organisation expressed confidence that the collaboration with News Central Television would further strengthen Housing Development Programme as a major platform for housing advocacy, investment promotion, policy dialogue and public education in Nigeria.

Housing Development Programme airs on Africa Independent Television (AIT) at 11:00 a.m. on weekdays, every Sunday at 5:00 p.m. on News Central Television, DStv Channel 422 and GOtv Channel 23, with a repeat broadcast every Saturday at 7:00 p.m. on Housing TV Africa via the FreeTV platform.
