All is set as event professionals from Nigeria and across Africa, will converge in Nairobi, Kenya this August for the 7th edition of The Global Event Managers’ Workshop.
According to the organizers, in a press statement, the three-day event is designed to connect, inspire and equip practitioners in the fast-evolving events industry
The statement further disclosed that this annual gathering is organised by The Event Managers Community (EMC) and powered by Ife’ctiv Touch under the leadership of Adeife Abiodun-Adeyemi.
According to the statement, billed to hold from August 31 to September 2, with the workshop theme, “INNOVATE.”
The statement revealed, “The goal of the workshop includes, learning, networking, collaboration and shared experiences aimed at strengthening the business of events across the continent.”
According to the workshop convener, Adeife O. Abiodun-Adeyemi, CEO of Ife’ctiv Touch and Founder of The Event Managers Community, she said EMC was established to provide a structured platform for professionals within the events industry to learn, collaborate and build sustainable businesses.
The convener explained that the event industry contributes significantly to tourism, trade and job creation.
The statement added that the 2026 edition will feature a diverse line-up of industry voices drawn from Nigeria, Kenya and Côte d’Ivoire.
Speakers include Abidemi Adeyemi of Tammy’s Event, Nigeria; Astou Djamat-Dubois of Spotlight Productions & Event Pro International, Abidjan; Chika Ibeabuchi of Gemini24 Events, Nigeria; Titus Adefila of Heddy Decorations & Bamz Media, Nigeria; and Morris Kamweru, CEO of Zippy Events, Kenya.
The speakers are expected to share practical insights on innovation in event production, business growth, technology adoption, client experience and the evolving opportunities within the global events economy.
The programme will be anchored by Betty Kithinji, Kenyan publicist and media personality, and Afolabi Akinsowon, popularly known as MC Afroflux from Nigeria.
Organisers say the experience is designed to extend beyond classroom-style learning.
Day One will open with a welcome dinner and networking experience.
The main workshop sessions will hold on September 1 and 2, focusing on expert-led sessions, panel conversations and business clinics.
The event will conclude on September 3 with a tour excursion for delegates, particularly those visiting from outside Kenya. This will offer an opportunity to explore selected landmarks and experiences in Nairobi.
To expand reach, parts of the workshop will also be live-streamed. This will enable professionals who cannot travel to participate virtually.
The organisers say the workshop is supported by a growing network of partners including Rotary Means Business (RMB), Xtranatural Nig. Ltd, Westview Travel & Tours, Tulips Decor & Designs, The Packagewithsense Connoisseur Ltd and PME ERP Kenya.
The organisers note that these partnerships reflect a commitment to building stronger connections across the events, business, travel, technology and professional services sectors.
This comes at a time when Africa’s events industry is experiencing growth driven by destination weddings, corporate events and tourism.
At the heart of this year’s theme “INNOVATE” is the message that the events industry is changing and professionals must be ready to adapt.
Through shared learning and collaboration, The Global Event Managers’ Workshop 7.0 seeks to encourage practitioners to rethink how they create experiences, run businesses, embrace technology and position themselves for the future.
