GetBundi has onboarded a new cohort of trainees for its flagship digital skills programme for African women, TechSis 2026.

The virtual onboarding ceremony was held on Saturday, August 1, 2026, marking the commencement of the latest edition of the programme.

In her keynote address, the Chief Executive Officer of Asher Zebulun, Ms Petronella Chizera, urged the new cohort to look beyond securing employment and focus on acquiring skills that could enable them to create opportunities and transform lives.

“Your digital skills become truly valuable when they solve real problems in your community,” she said.

The Director of Career Development Services, Federal Polytechnic, Nekede, Dr Ijeoma Emeagi, who served as guest speaker, encouraged participants to continue learning and build strong professional profiles.

“Never stop learning. The end of training is the beginning of your professional journey. Build a digital footprint you’re proud of because your reputation starts long before the interview,” she said.

Following the onboarding ceremony, TechSis 2026 commenced with beneficiaries receiving free online training in high-demand digital skills, including content creation, digital marketing, data analytics and video editing.

The four-month programme will be delivered online, with certificates available to participants who indicated interest by paying an optional $10 certification fee.

GetBundi is an African EdTech platform focused on STEM education and digital skills training to prepare learners for the future of work.

The platform launched TechSis in 2023 to help address the digital gender gap in Africa.

The inaugural cohort trained 500 women in coding, while the 2024 edition expanded the programme to 1,000 women in web development and data analytics. In 2025, another 1,500 women were trained in data analytics and cybersecurity.

The programme is targeting 3,000 women in 2026.

Speaking during the launch of TechSis 2026, the Founder of GetBundi, Osita Oparaugo, said the programme was designed to equip African women with skills needed to participate meaningfully in the digital economy.

“Our mission is to equip African women with the digital skills they need to drive innovation, secure meaningful employment, and achieve economic independence,” he said.

“We are creating pathways for African women to enter and lead in the digital economy.”

Through GetBundi’s partnership with Doballi, a Dubai-based remote talent platform, some TechSis graduates have already secured employment opportunities with international companies.
