The Rotary Club of Ikeja will on Sunday, July 12, 2026, install Rotarian Olukayode Osokomaiya as its 59th President during an investiture ceremony at the Sheraton Lagos Hotel, Ikeja.

The event will bring together Rotary leaders, members, partners and invited guests to mark the formal handover of leadership and the commencement of the 2026–2027 Rotary year.

According to the club, the investiture reflects its renewed commitment to community development through leadership, strategic partnerships and sustainable service initiatives.

Over the years, the Rotary Club of Ikeja has undertaken humanitarian projects in education, healthcare, youth development and economic empowerment, in line with Rotary’s “Service Above Self” philosophy.

The club said it would align its activities for the new Rotary year with Rotary International’s 2026–2027 presidential theme, “Create Lasting Impact,” with emphasis on sustainable community development, leadership development, stronger partnerships and increased public engagement.

As part of activities marking the new Rotary year, the club plans to empower women through the donation of vocational equipment, including sewing machines, in partnership with the Nigerian Air Force Officers’ Wives Association (NAFOWA).

It also plans to provide financial support to small-scale traders through its Micro Enterprise Scheme to help strengthen their businesses and livelihoods.

The club said the initiatives are aimed at promoting self-reliance and delivering sustainable social and economic benefits to communities.

In addition to its community projects, the Rotary Club of Ikeja said it would continue to encourage young professionals to embrace the values of service, integrity and fellowship in order to nurture future leaders.

It also expressed its commitment to strengthening collaboration with the media, corporate organisations and development partners to increase public awareness of Rotary’s activities and encourage broader participation in community service.

The club noted that Osokomaiya, who has served in various leadership capacities within the organisation, assumes office with a commitment to advancing Rotary’s humanitarian objectives through collective service.

Speaking ahead of the investiture, Osokomaiya said the club would focus on projects and partnerships that deliver lasting value to communities.

“The strength of Rotary has always been found in people who are willing to serve beyond themselves. As we begin this new Rotary year, our focus is simple. We want every project we undertake, every partnership we build and every life we touch to reflect Rotary’s enduring commitment to service. Together, we will create lasting impact that extends far beyond this Rotary year,” he said.
