The former Chairman, Delta State Investments Development Agency (DIDA), Hon. Paul Nmah, has congratulated former Governor of Delta State, Senator Dr. Ifeanyi Arthur Okowa, CON, on the occasion of his 67th birthday, describing him as an exceptional leader whose people-centred policies transformed lives and significantly advanced the development of the state’s informal sector.

In a goodwill message issued on Wednesday, Nmah said Okowa’s years in public service were defined by visionary leadership, humility and an unwavering commitment to inclusive governance, noting that his administration gave unprecedented recognition and support to artisans, traders, transport operators, market women, small-scale entrepreneurs and other critical players in the informal economy.

According to him, the former governor understood the strategic importance of the informal sector as a catalyst for economic growth and deliberately implemented policies and programmes that empowered thousands of Deltans to become self-reliant and economically productive.

“Your Excellency, as you celebrate your 67th birthday, I join millions of Deltans in thanking Almighty God for His grace upon your life and in celebrating your remarkable legacy of service. Your tenure as Governor was distinguished by visionary leadership, compassion and an unwavering commitment to the welfare of the people,” Nmah said.

He added: “One of the defining hallmarks of your administration was the deliberate attention given to the informal sector. Through strategic empowerment initiatives and inclusive economic policies, you restored hope to artisans, traders, transport operators, market women and small business owners, creating opportunities for sustainable livelihoods and expanding the frontiers of grassroots economic development in Delta State.”

Nmah further stated that the achievements recorded under Okowa’s administration would continue to inspire future leaders, saying, “Your investment in human capital development and your inclusive style of governance have left an enduring impact that will remain part of Delta State’s development history. Your legacy is not only reflected in physical infrastructure but also in the countless lives transformed through your programmes and policies.”

He prayed for God’s continued blessings upon the former governor, wishing him sound health, renewed strength, greater wisdom and many more years of fruitful service to Delta State, Nigeria and humanity.
