Nigerian fintech product marketer, Fiyinfolu Adekunle, has earned a Master of Science (MSc) in Digital Marketing from the University of Chester Business School, United Kingdom, and has been named a TIME100 Fintech Product & Growth Leader of the Year.
The twin achievements underscore the growing global recognition of African fintech professionals and their contributions to the technology industry.
Adekunle relocated to the UK after building a career in Nigeria’s cryptocurrency exchange and mobile payments sector, where he worked on digital marketing and product growth initiatives.
As Product Marketing Lead at Prestmit Technology, a cryptocurrency exchange, he spearheaded digital acquisition campaigns that generated over 6.53 million search impressions and attracted 25,749 monthly organic users through search engine optimisation (SEO) and content marketing strategies.
He also contributed to product marketing for a mobile payments platform targeting Nigeria’s underbanked population, helping the platform record more than 1,000 downloads and 1,000 transactions during its early stages.
At Prestmit, Adekunle managed the marketing of four cryptocurrency wallet launches covering Ethereum (ETH), TRON, USDT and BNB, with campaigns tailored to the Nigerian market.
Reflecting on his academic journey, Adekunle said the MSc programme at the University of Chester helped him strengthen and formalise the practical skills he had developed while working in Nigeria’s fintech ecosystem.
The TIME100 Fintech Product & Growth Leader of the Year recognition honours emerging professionals who have demonstrated measurable impact in fintech and product growth.
Commenting on the recognition, Adekunle said: “Completing my MSc while being recognized by TIME100 is a significant moment for me. It shows that skills and experience gained in African markets can translate directly into opportunities abroad.”
His achievements come amid increasing international recognition of African technology professionals making their mark in global fintech and digital innovation.
