The National Association of Ogun State Students (NAOSS) has called for unity within the All Progressives Congress (APC) in Ogun State following the party’s governorship primary, while reaffirming its support for the party’s candidate, Senator Solomon Olamilekan Adeola, popularly known as Yayi.

In a statement issued on Tuesday and signed by its National President, Olubodun Olalekan, the association urged political stakeholders to embrace issue-based politics and avoid actions or comments capable of creating divisions within the party ahead of the 2027 governorship election.

The student body noted that Senator Adeola emerged as the APC governorship candidate through the party’s primary process and called on party members to unite behind him.

According to NAOSS, the focus of political leaders should be on promoting good governance and addressing issues affecting residents of Ogun State, particularly young people.

The association identified job creation, improved access to quality education, better healthcare delivery and infrastructure development as key priorities for students and youths in the state.

NAOSS also urged political actors to place the collective interest of Ogun State above personal or political differences in order to strengthen the democratic process.

The group reaffirmed its support for Senator Adeola’s candidacy and expressed confidence in his ability to provide leadership for the state if elected.

It further pledged to continue advocating transparent, accountable and people-centred leadership while encouraging students and young people to participate actively in the democratic process.

The association added that it would continue to promote responsible leadership and hold public office holders accountable in the interest of the people of Ogun State.
