The Kogi Progressive Stakeholders Forum (KPSF), Kogi East Chapter has declared support for the re-election of President Bola Ahmed Tinubu.
The stakeholders made this known on Friday at a One Day Strategic Review Meeting organized to formulate potent strategies towards winning elections for the President and other APC Candidates in the zone.
The State Coordinator of the Forum, Sani Philips stated that President Tinubu has performed credibly well under the Renewed Hope Agenda Program despite the numerous challenges he met when he took over the reigns of affairs in the country.
Sani described Tinubu as a reformer highlighting several economic reforms initiated by the President in various sectors of the economy.
“On economic reforms and fiscal policy, the administration removed the fraudulent petrol subsidy and unified the official foreign exchange market to boost revenue and restore macroeconomic stability”
“Under the administration of President Bola Tinubu, Nigeria’s Gross external reserves reached $51.04 billion by mid- June 2026, the highest level recorded in roughly 17 years. This achievement is made possible by sustained foreign exchange inflows, improved oil revenues, and foreign investor participation in fixed – income markets.
“On Education and Youth Empowerment, the President established the Nigerian Education Loan Fund (NELFUND) to provide interest free loans to students in tertiary institutions.
“On Agriculture and Food Security, the government under the leadership of President Tinubu declared a state of emergency on food insecurity and launched a N100 billion Agricultural Development fund. The administration also introduced the National Livestock Program to improve productivity and resolve farmer – header crises.
“On Infrastructure and Transportation, heavy investments are being channeled into projects across the country like the Lagos – Calabar Coastal Highway and the Kano – Maradi Railway.”
Sani further stated that the district has no business being in the opposition as the ruling party provides the opportunity for sustainable growth and development not only for the zone but for the country at-large.
Also speaking, the Zonal Woman leader of the forum, Mrs Florence Achoba commended President Tinubu for initiating several major development projects for women, notably amongst which are the Renewed Hope Initiative (RHI) led in collaboration with the Office of the First Lady with wide reaching schemes such as the N50,000 grant program for women traders and the Inspire initiative designed to advance women’s leadership and inclusion in the Federal Civil Service.
The Zonal Coordinator of the Forum who is the lawmaker representing Idah Federal Constituency, Peter Egwudah appealed to President Tinubu, to assent to the bill for the establishment of the Federal Medical Centre, Ankpa which is currently before him.
Egwudah also appealed to the President to approve the construction of the Otuocha – Ibaji- Idah road, a critical 90 kilometer interstate highway connecting Anambra and Kogi States.
Egwudah stated that, “The regional and economic importance of the road when constructed cannot be overemphasized, as the road will link many agrarian rural communities to major hubs, shorten travel time as the corridor links the industrialized south east commercial hubs to North Central transit network and improve the local economy of the zone.”
