President General of Our Will, a support group for the election of All Progressive Congress, APC, candidate in the coming 2027 governorship election in Rivers State Hon Kingsley Chinda, Barrister Glory Wobo, has commended the Governor of Rivers State, Mr Similayi Fubara for publicly declaring that he wants enduring peace to reign in Rivers State and has therefore declare his support for the Rainbow Coalition in the state.

The Rainbow Coalition, which is the coalition of APC, the People’s Democratic Party, PDP, and some other parties in the state has elected Hon Kingsley Chinda as the consensus governorship candidate in the coming election. The coalition is the brain child of the former governor of the state and Federal Capital Territory Minister, Barrister Nysom Wike.

Speaking on the development , Barrister Glory Wobo said he is elated by Governor Fubara’s decision to forget the past and allow political peace to reign in the state. According to Wobo , “ What the governor has just done is a big step in facilitating rapid development in the state. He has demonstrated statesmanship. He has shown leadership and understanding There can never be meaningful economic development in the state if there is political tension and bitterness among the major political stakeholders in the state.

“ The return of Governor Fubara to the political family of the former governor and FCT Minister , Nysom Wike will bring all the political stakeholders in Rivers State together to discus and offer suggestions on how to achieve rapid development in the state. Fubara has looked at the bigger picture and put the interest of the state first.

Recall Similayi Fubara, on Tuesday, publicly declared that he has reconciled with his former political godfather, Barrister Nysom Wike, joined the Rainbow Coalition and endorsed the candidature of Hon. Kingsley Chinda. He said he took this decision for the overall interest of the state. He also called on his teaming supporters to forget the past and join the coalition to actualize the emergency of Hon Kingsley Chinda as the next governor of Rivers State.

Rivers State, it will be recalled, has witnessed leadership turbulence since the former governor, Barrister Nysom Wike, left office.

The state in the last three years has seen an endless battle between the Executive and Legislative arms of government.

This prompted President Bola Ahmed Tinubu to declare six months state of emergence in the state.
Even after the state of emergency was lifted at the expiration of the six months, nothing changed. The battle line was still drawn between the governor and the state legislators.

Political watchers have therefore, said Rivers State needs leadership stability . The state needs it urgently.
That the state did not collapse administratively and thrown into anachy, is still a miracle to many onlookers.
