AWKA — A group of members of the All Progressives Congress (APC) in Anambra State, including local government chairmen, state executive committee members and party aspirants, have declared their continued support for the state chairman, Senator Emma Anosike.

In statements issued after a separate political gathering organised by another faction of the party, the group said it stayed away from the event and reaffirmed its loyalty to the Anosike-led state executive.

Those backing Anosike said their decision reflected their support for what they described as the party’s recognised leadership in the state.

The development comes amid lingering leadership disputes within the Anambra APC following legal proceedings that challenged Anosike’s leadership.

Supporters of the state chairman maintained that his executive remains the legitimate leadership of the party in Anambra and pledged to continue working with it ahead of future elections, including the National Assembly, State Assembly and local government polls.

They also said they would not participate in activities they believe could deepen divisions within the party.
