Agribusiness entrepreneur targets expansion of ginger production, agro-exports

Agribusiness entrepreneur Paul P. Auta has outlined plans to expand commercial ginger production and strengthen Nigeria’s participation in international agricultural markets through increased investment in sustainable farming and agro-export activities.

Auta, who officially launched his agribusiness venture in 2020 with the establishment of Transgenerational Ideal Integrated Farms Ltd. (TIIF), said his vision is centred on using agriculture as a driver of economic growth, job creation, food security and rural development.

According to him, the company operates across commercial farming, commodity trading, farm management and agro-export, with a focus on building sustainable agricultural enterprises capable of competing in global markets.

He said his interest in agriculture was inspired by the sector’s potential to create wealth and improve livelihoods, noting that Nigeria’s agricultural value chain offers significant opportunities, particularly in the production and export of high-value commodities such as ginger.

As Founder and Managing Director of TIIF and Founder of Pura Organic Traders Ltd., Auta said his businesses are committed to supporting local farmers, encouraging youth participation in agribusiness and promoting sustainable agricultural practices.

He added that the companies are working to strengthen agricultural value chains while contributing to broader efforts to increase Nigeria’s export capacity and improve rural economic opportunities.

Auta also highlighted his participation in agribusiness conferences, investor engagements and business development initiatives, describing them as opportunities to attract investment, encourage innovation and foster collaboration within the sector.

Among the milestones recorded by the businesses, he cited growing investor interest in expanding commercial ginger production and efforts to strengthen the operational and corporate structures of the companies to support larger-scale production and exports.

Looking ahead, Auta said his immediate priorities include expanding commercial ginger cultivation, improving farm management systems and increasing agro-export activities through strategic partnerships with local and international stakeholders.

He expressed optimism that sustained investment and innovation in agriculture would help create employment opportunities, empower farming communities, strengthen food security and contribute to Nigeria’s economic development.
