‎Why we launched Halal Fund – Utomi

‎‎Alpha 10 Capital, yesterday, launched its Halal Fund, a Sharia-compliant company with a view to expanding its services to members of the public who prefer to invest their money in ethical or products that comply with the Islamic Commercial Law.

‎‎The Group Managing Director (GMD) of Alpha 10, Mrs. Abigail Utomi, told journalists, after the launch in Abuja, that the Fund represented an opportunity for both Muslims and Non-Muslims to invest in products that aligned with their faiths.

‎‎Her words, “We believe strongly that everybody should be able to assess wealth management solutions that meet their needs, regardless of their beliefs, faith, and preferences. So, Alpha 10 is looking at expanding the array of options available to the investing public.

‎‎“We have presence across geopolitical zones that need this solution, and beyond that, we know that the ethical investment space is asset-based, economic driven, value adding, and we believe that merging these two ecosystems together to create wealth whilst positively impacting the economy, businesses and individuals.

‎‎“That is why we can proudly say that our future is your future, because if we do not shape the future of business and of people who invest with us, we will definitely not shape our own future, because the future of Alpha 10 is in its ability to impact lives, people, businesses, and economy, as a whole, locally and the international market.”

‎‎Mrs. Utomi added that her company’s Halal product was unique due to its low entry amount- a minimum of N1, 000.

‎‎“This fund has a very low entry point of 1000 naira. There are other options in the market. However, you will find that those funds or products may have a higher entry point, and as such, just like my chairman said in his remark, making it unaccessible to certain categories of the investing public.

‎‎“It is open to the small and the big investors in the country, and it is halal in the sense that those who are afraid of going into conventional banking because they don’t want interest,” she said.

‎‎According to the GMD, “Halal products provide an avenue that can significantly expand financial inclusion in the country.

‎‎Mrs. Utomi added that a unique feature of Alpha 10’s Halal Fund was its technological innovation, including a portal through which investors could obtain online, real-time information on their accounts.

‎‎She said, “In our investment strategy we are applying very tactical and strategic non- conventional investment management solutions or strategies to provide the best outcome in asset selection and efficiency list with technology’’.
