Okpebholo appoints new Ecological Commission chair to check environmental challenges, others

BENIN CITY – THE governor of Edo State, Senator Monday Okpebholo, has approved the nomination of Terry Igiebor as Chairman of the Edo State Ecological Funding and Management Commission.

The appointment is a move aimed at strengthening environmental management and grassroots development across the state.

The announcement was made in a government statement issued by the Secretary to the State Government, Umar Ikhilor, Esq.

The statement described Igiebor as a distinguished businessman and grassroots politician who is widely recognized for his commitment to community development and the empowerment of people at the grassroots level.

He previously served as a member of the Edo State Audit Service Commission, where he played a role in promoting accountability, transparency, and good governance.

The statement said the nomination would be forwarded to the Edo State House of Assembly for legislative consideration and confirmation, in line with statutory requirements.

The appointment is expected to bolster the state’s efforts in managing ecological funds and addressing environmental challenges while advancing sustainable development initiatives across Edo State.
