The Irene Ezekwe Empowerment Foundation, a support group affiliated with the Tinubu Support Group, on Thursday mobilised thousands of women and youths in Abuja, pledging grassroots support for President Bola Ahmed Tinubu’s re-election bid in 2027.

The event, held at the Tinubu Support Group headquarters in Abuja, attracted several dignitaries, including the Director-General of the Tinubu Support Group and the Director-General of the “Relax, Tinubu is Fixing Nigeria” campaign.

Speaking at the gathering, the founder of the foundation, Ambassador Irene E. Chukwunonso, said the event underscored the organisation’s commitment to service, empowerment and support for the administration’s Renewed Hope Agenda.

She said the foundation remains dedicated to community development and improving the lives of vulnerable groups, particularly women and youths, through empowerment programmes and agricultural initiatives.

Ambassador Irene commended the Tinubu administration’s reforms since 2023, citing achievements in infrastructure, agriculture, youth and women empowerment, social intervention programmes and revenue reforms.

She highlighted several initiatives she described as key milestones, including the removal of fuel subsidy, the approval of a N70,000 minimum wage, the N250 billion MOFI real estate fund, the Lagos-Calabar Coastal Highway project, the Compressed Natural Gas (CNG) transport initiative, the National Agricultural Fund, the Nigerian Education Loan Fund (NELFUND), and financial autonomy for the country’s 774 local government areas.

Announcing the foundation’s political mobilisation efforts, she declared support for President Tinubu’s second-term ambition and expressed confidence in the group’s ability to mobilise support across the country ahead of the 2027 general elections.

According to her, the foundation’s programmes have a nationwide reach and continue to impact beneficiaries through training, agricultural support schemes and other empowerment initiatives.

She also disclosed that cash and food items were distributed to beneficiaries during the event.

The Director-General of the Tinubu Support Group, Ambassador Umar Yakassai, urged Nigerians to support the president’s re-election bid, saying continuity would help sustain ongoing policies and programmes.

Stakeholders and beneficiaries at the event pledged to intensify grassroots sensitisation and mobilisation efforts in support of President Tinubu ahead of the 2027 elections.

The foundation reaffirmed its commitment to advancing the Renewed Hope Agenda through sustained community empowerment, while calling on Nigerians to promote unity, peace and good governance.
