An All Progressives Congress (APC) chieftain in Ondo State, Dr. Femi Akinkuebi, has called on Governor Lucky Aiyedatiwa to use the period following the party’s National Assembly primaries to unite members and focus on delivering legacy projects across the state.
In an open letter addressed to the governor, Akinkuebi said the post-primary period presents an opportunity for the administration to strengthen party cohesion and accelerate development initiatives that would leave a lasting impact on the people.
He noted that while the APC primaries produced both winners and losers, the governor should see all aspirants and their supporters as critical stakeholders whose contributions remain important to the party and the state’s development.
According to him, reconciliation within the party would enhance political stability and create the environment needed to implement the administration’s “Our Ease Agenda” effectively across the 18 local government areas of the state.
Akinkuebi described Ondo as a state endowed with abundant natural and human resources, including agriculture, solid minerals, coastal assets and a vibrant youth population, stressing that these resources could only be fully harnessed in an atmosphere of unity and collaboration.
He urged the governor to convene meetings with aggrieved aspirants and other stakeholders to rebuild confidence within the party, saying inclusive leadership would strengthen governance and improve policy implementation.
The APC chieftain also encouraged the governor to prioritise projects that would have long-term economic and social benefits, including road infrastructure, healthcare, education, agriculture and coastal development.
He said such investments would improve livelihoods, stimulate economic growth and create opportunities for residents across the state.
Akinkuebi further urged Governor Aiyedatiwa to maintain close collaboration with the Federal Government in support of President Bola Tinubu’s Renewed Hope Agenda, noting that stronger alignment between state and federal policies would attract greater development opportunities to Ondo State.
He also called for sustained cooperation with the national leadership of the APC under the party’s National Chairman, Prof. Nentawe Yilwatda, saying a united state chapter would strengthen the party ahead of future elections.
The party chieftain expressed confidence that Governor Aiyedatiwa still has the opportunity to build a lasting legacy through inclusive governance, effective leadership and sustained development initiatives.
He urged the governor to seize the moment by promoting unity within the APC and pursuing policies that would improve the welfare of the people and position Ondo State for long-term growth.
