Tiwa Savage taps Loud Urban Choir for foundation launch celebration

Tiwa Savage engaged the Loud Urban Choir for a featured performance appearance at the official launch of the Tiwa Savage Music Foundation (TSMF), held on March 9, 2026, at The Delborough Lagos, Victoria Island, during a black tie gathering that brought together key figures across Nigeria’s cultural, business, and political landscape, including the Executive Governor of Lagos State, Babajide Sanwo-Olu.

The engagement extended to one of Nigeria’s most recognized live vocal collectives, a group that has built its reputation across major entertainment stages since their debut at Basketmouth’s Lords of the Ribs in 2019 to numerous other engagements with top Afrobeats acts like Davido and Ayra Starr.

The invitation was positioned as a deliberate artistic choice within a highly curated evening centered on the foundation’s long-term vision of nurturing creative collaboration, artistic discipline, and sustainable pathways for emerging music talent. Loud Urban Choir’s inclusion reflected that intent, with their collective performance identity aligning closely with the foundation’s emphasis on structured creativity and collaborative excellence.

Their set at the launch unfolded as a 20-minute, high-tempo Afrobeats-driven medley built around reinterpretations of widely recognized Nigerian and international records. The performance featured a blend of popular records from artists such as Wizkid, Davido, Tiwa Savage, Runtown, Flavour, Tekno, and Yemi Alade, alongside global influences including Beyoncé, Sean Paul, Brick & Lace, and Frank Edwards-inspired arrangements. The medley was intentionally structured for energy and audience movement, tailored to a black-tie setting while still activating a celebratory, dance-led atmosphere.

Audience response was immediate and visibly engaged, with guests rising from their seats as the performance progressed, a notable moment in a formal black tie environment. The set drew participation from a high profile guest list that included leading figures across Nigeria’s entertainment and political landscape, and was widely received as a standout entertainment segment of the evening.

This appearance further reinforced Loud Urban Choir’s established reputation as one of the most compelling live performance collectives operating within contemporary Afrobeats and African music culture.
