Tax Reforms: Afri Invoice gains Nigeria accreditation as system integrator

…Cements position as pioneer in Nigeria’s digital invoicing revolution

Afri Invoice Nigeria Ltd has secured official accreditation from the Nigeria Revenue Service, NRS, formerly the Federal Inland Revenue Service, FIRS, as a System Integrator for Nigeria’s mandatory e-Invoicing platform under the Merchant Buyer Solution, MBS.

The accreditation places the company among a select group of organisations authorised to connect businesses directly to the NRS real-time invoicing infrastructure for seamless, compliant and secure digital tax reporting.

Industry observers say the development further strengthens Afri Invoice’s standing in Nigeria’s accounting and tax technology ecosystem, positioning it alongside leading firms driving digital compliance and enterprise tax automation.

The company said the accreditation validates years of investment in tax technology, regulatory intelligence and enterprise-grade integration systems designed to support businesses transitioning from manual invoicing processes to fully digital workflows.

Speaking on the milestone, Founder of Afri Invoice, Mr. Mark Odenore, described the accreditation as a major step for both the company and Nigeria’s broader tax reform agenda.

According to him, “e-Invoicing embeds tax compliance directly into everyday business activity. As transaction data moves into real-time digital systems, organisations must be able to rely on that data for tax reporting, audit and regulatory review.

“This accreditation reinforces Afri Invoice Nigeria Ltd’s role in helping organisations build trust, comply and report with confidence. We combine deep tax and regulatory expertise with technology to ensure e-Invoicing processes are accurate, empowering businesses to comply.”

Odenore added that the shift toward digital invoicing aligns with global trends aimed at improving transparency, accountability and real-time regulatory oversight.

“The e-Invoicing mandate reflects global trends toward greater transparency and real-time oversight. Our mission is to help businesses navigate this shift, manage complexity, protect value and build trust across the tax ecosystem,” he said.

Afri Invoice noted that before the Federal Government made e-Invoicing a national priority, the company had already positioned itself as a pioneer in digital invoicing innovation through the development of tailored e-Invoicing solutions for Nigerian businesses.

The company said its solutions are designed to promote real-time compliance, secure and scalable integration, data integrity, transparency and automation in financial reporting processes.

Strategic Lead and Operations Director at Afri Invoice, Ms. Fatimata Niang, said successful e-Invoicing implementation goes beyond technology deployment and requires deep tax expertise and regulatory understanding.

“Technology can automate invoicing. However, interpreting tax requirements and managing risk require tax expertise. e-Invoicing works best when tax rules, data controls and enterprise systems are designed together.

“Our tax technology capability brings tax advisory expertise into technology execution, enabling organisations to manage complexity, maintain control and rely on e-Invoicing as compliance becomes embedded into their operations,” she said.

The company explained that with the new accreditation, it would support organisations in integrating their invoicing systems with the NRS MBS platform, strengthening internal controls and data governance, ensuring real-time and error-free invoice transmission, and providing ongoing compliance support as tax regulations evolve.

Afri Invoice also said its solutions would help businesses reduce operational risks, improve reporting accuracy and enhance confidence in regulatory compliance.
