Chief of Staff to the President, Mr Femi Gbajabiamila, on Wednesday, expressed satisfaction with the House of Assembly primary election of the All Progressives Congress, APC, in Surulere constituency I, describing the exercise as peaceful, transparent and orderly.

Speaking after casting his vote at Ward G2, Gbajabiamila said he was impressed by the massive turnout of party members and the orderly manner in which the exercise was conducted.

The former Speaker of the House of Representatives noted that despite the exercise being a primary election, participation was impressive, while voters conducted themselves peacefully throughout the process.

He also commended voters in the ward for their conduct and disclosed that reports reaching him indicated that the exercise was progressing smoothly in other areas as well.
Gbajabiamila said: “This is my ward on G2. I have been voting here on G2 as long as I’ve been in politics.

“At any time I come to vote, whatever office or election it is, my reaction is always the same. When I see peaceful, fair, credible and orderly elections, I’m always very happy. And that’s exactly what I’ve seen.

“The turnout has been very impressive considering that we’re talking about primaries here. People have been peaceful and orderly. The election has been free and transparent, and I’m happy to see that.
“I congratulate the people, and from what I’m hearing, the feedback I’m getting, it’s the same across the board.”
