Stakeholders urge APC leadership to ensure credible Kogi primaries

Concerned stakeholders and loyal members of the All Progressives Congress (APC) in Kogi State have raised alarm over an alleged plot to manipulate delegate and electoral outcomes in favour of one of the aspirants.

The stakeholders, under the aegis of Concerned Stakeholders and Party Faithfuls, alleged that there were moves to allocate fictitious results capable of undermining the credibility and transparency of the party’s internal democratic process.

In a statement signed by the Kogi East Coordinator of the group, Engr Sunday Anaja, the stakeholders described the alleged development as a serious threat to democratic principles, party unity, and public confidence in the APC.

According to the statement, if such allegations are allowed to stand unchecked, they could damage the integrity of the party and erode the trust reposed in its leadership by members and supporters.

The group called on the National Working Committee (NWC) of the APC to urgently intervene and ensure that all electoral processes remain transparent, credible, and in strict compliance with the party’s constitution and guidelines.

“We respectfully call on the National Working Committee and the national headquarters of the APC to urgently take note of these concerns and ensure that all processes remain transparent, credible, fair, and in strict compliance with the constitution and guidelines of the party,” the statement read.

The stakeholders maintained that party unity and public confidence could only be sustained when all aspirants are guaranteed a level playing field devoid of manipulation, intimidation, or fabricated outcomes.

They urged the party leadership to thoroughly investigate the allegations, ensure authentic results prevail at all levels, and hold accountable anyone found culpable of actions capable of bringing the APC into disrepute.

The group further warned that members and supporters across Kogi State were closely monitoring developments and expected the party leadership to act decisively in defence of fairness, transparency, and internal democracy.

“The credibility of the party’s democratic processes must not be compromised under any circumstance. Members and supporters across Kogi State and beyond are keenly observing developments and expect the leadership to act decisively in defence of transparency, equity, and party cohesion,” the statement added.

The stakeholders expressed confidence that the APC National Working Committee would rise to the occasion and protect the integrity of the party’s electoral process.
