The Chairman of the All Progressives Congress, APC, Lagos State, Cornelius Ojelabi, has expressed felicitation with Muslim faithful across the state and Nigeria at large on the occasion of Eid-el-Kabir.

Ojelabi, through his Senior Special Assistant, on Media and Publicity, Omobola Akingbehin, described Eid-el-Kabir as a sacred and significant festival that symbolizes total obedience to God, sacrifice, love, tolerance, and unwavering faith, as demonstrated by Prophet Ibrahim (AS).

He urged Muslims and Nigerians generally to imbibe the virtues in their daily lives for the collective peace, unity, and progress of the nation, while reflecting on the words of the Holy Qur’an in Surah Al-Hajj (22:37):

“It is neither their meat nor their blood that reaches Allah, but it is piety from you that reaches Him.”

The chairman noted that the season offers another opportunity for sober reflection, compassion for one another, and renewed commitment to the ideals of peaceful coexistence and nation-building.

He called on party faithful and residents of Lagos State to continue supporting the administration of President Bola Tinubu, and Governor Babajide Sanwo-Olu in their efforts towards sustainable development, economic growth, and improved welfare package for the people.

According to him, “The lessons of Eid-el-Kabir remind us of the importance of sacrifice, patience, and steadfastness in overcoming challenges.

“As a people, we must remain united, hopeful, and committed to building a stronger and more prosperous Lagos and Nigeria.”

Ojelabi further appealed to Nigerians to use the festive period to pray for the peace, stability, and progress of the country, while encouraging Muslims to celebrate responsibly and extend love and support to the less privileged in society.

He reaffirmed the commitment of the Lagos APC leadership to continue working tirelessly in ensuring good governance, grassroots development, and the overall progress of Lagos State.

The Chairman wished all Muslim faithful a peaceful, joyful, and rewarding Eid-el-Kabir celebration.
