OSOGBO — The All Progressives Congress (APC) in Osun State has expressed confidence in its prospects ahead of the next election cycle, saying it believes it can defeat Governor Ademola Adeleke at the polls.

Speaking with journalists in Osogbo on Monday, the Chairman of the party’s Media and Publicity Committee, Engr. Remi Omowaye, said the APC was not concerned about opinion polls circulating in the public space.

He stated that the party would focus on presenting its programmes to voters, particularly in areas such as infrastructure, healthcare, agriculture, and education.

Omowaye also outlined some of the APC’s policy priorities, including plans to revitalise farm settlements, partner with agro-allied industries, and expand opportunities in the agricultural sector. He added that the party would seek to strengthen development initiatives across key sectors of the state.

On education, he referenced the cost of tuition at the University of Ilesa as part of broader discussions around access to tertiary education in the state.

In response, the governor’s spokesperson, Olawale Rasheed, said the administration remained focused on its governance agenda and highlighted areas where it said progress had been recorded.

He cited improvements in education rankings, primary healthcare access, and potable water supply, noting that these indicators reflect ongoing efforts by the state government to improve service delivery.

Both sides maintained their positions as political activities continue in the state ahead of future elections.
