Okpebholo’s Ramat Park flyover redefining Edo landscape — Mayaki

The promoter of Edo: Nigeria’s Construction Site, Mr. John Mayaki, has unveiled fresh aerial visuals of the ongoing signature flyover project at Ramat Park in Benin City, describing it as a major transformation of the state’s infrastructure landscape.

The drone shots, released on Thursday, have since gone viral on social media, attracting widespread reactions and commendations for Governor Monday Okpebholo over the pace of work on the project.

Mayaki said the project has continued to alter public perception about infrastructural development in Edo State, insisting that a visit to the site would reveal the scale and quality of work already achieved.

According to him, the Ramat Park Flyover has become a reference point in the ongoing urban renewal drive of the Okpebholo administration.

“Just visit the Ramat Park Flyover and judge for yourself. The same project many thought was impossible is already changing the face of Benin City,” he said.

He added that the flyover would not only ease traffic congestion but would also reshape the economic and social outlook of the state through improved transportation and increased commercial activities.

Mayaki further noted that the project is designed to permanently address the perennial erosion and flooding challenges affecting the Ramat Park axis and adjoining federal government agencies in the area.

He explained that the ongoing channelisation of floodwater to the Ikpoba River through an underground drainage system routed along Obaseki Street is expected to provide lasting relief to residents and road users who have suffered years of environmental degradation and disruption caused by flooding.

The Edo State Governor, Senator Monday Okpebholo, has also pledged to transform the area into a modern urban corridor with beautification projects, including flowers, streetlights, shopping outlets, relaxation spots and other contemporary public facilities aimed at improving the aesthetics and commercial appeal of the city.

The project is among the flagship infrastructure initiatives of the Okpebholo administration as part of efforts to modernise Edo State and improve the living conditions of residents.
