ABUJA — The Concerned Young Citizens Forum (CYCF) has appointed renowned businessman and Managing Director of Cool Group of Companies Limited, Chief Emeka Nwaogu, as its Grand Patron.

The Director-General of CYCF, Comrade Miracle Nwosu, led a delegation of young leaders from across the 36 states and the Federal Capital Territory (FCT) on a courtesy visit to Chief Nwaogu in Abuja, where the appointment was formally conferred.

In addition to the appointment, the Forum honoured Chief Nwaogu with the prestigious National Business and Youth Development ICON of the Year Award.

Speaking during the ceremony, Comrade Nwosu said the appointment of Chief Nwaogu as Grand Patron is a strategic step to strengthen the organisation’s capacity.

“He’ll deepen our initiatives, mentorship programmes, and sustainable partnerships that will benefit young Nigerians across the country,” Nwosu stated.

The ceremony included the official presentation of the appointment letter and the award plaque, followed by a symbolic handshake that marked the beginning of a partnership between the Forum and its new Grand Patron.

While reading the citation, women leaders of the Forum, Rahanatu Yusuf and Ngozi Testimony, described Chief Nwaogu as “a man whose influence cuts across the globe,” noting his commitment to uplifting the less privileged, restoring destinies, and upholding justice, fairness, and accountability in society.

Presenting the award, the Secretary General of the Forum, Nura Muhammad, highlighted Chief Nwaogu’s contributions to business development, job creation, and youth empowerment, describing him as an inspiration to the younger generation.

In his response, Chief Emeka Nwaogu expressed gratitude for the honour and commended the CYCF for its vision and proactive engagement in nation-building. He assured the Forum of his full support and commitment towards advancing its objectives.

“I am overwhelmed by the calibre of young people from different ethnic groups and states across the country that came to honour me,” he said.

Chief Nwaogu urged the organisation to articulate its needs and business proposals, while advising young Nigerians to remain focused, innovative, and resilient.

“The future of Nigeria lies in the hands of responsible and visionary young citizens of this great country,” he added.

The event ended on a high note as the Organising Secretary of CYCF, Faith Okidu, led the group in chanting a solidarity song: “You are a leader, you are a leader, you are our leader.”
