Nigerians taking bullets, not Tinubu, Group replies Presidency

Nigerians taking bullets, not Tinubu, Group replies Presidency

The Grassroots Mobilization Network, GMN, a support group of African Democratic Congress, ADC, has faulted the Special Adviser to the President on Information and Strategy, Bayo Onanuga, over his claim that President Bola Tinubu is taking bullets for Nigerians.

In a statement on Friday, the Secretary General of the Network, Usman Bala Idris, described the comment as a mischievous spin and a cruel joke against millions of citizens battling hardship under the watch of President Bola Ahmed Tinubu’s administration.

“Nigerians are the ones taking bullets. The bullets of inflation, bullets of subsidy removal without relief, bullets of a collapsing naira, and bullets of insecurity that still rage across our nation,” Idris said.

Idris argued that leadership should be judged by empirical results, not by the spin of martyrdom from Aso Rock, adding that, Nigerians need practical solutions, not press releases that reframe suffering as heroism.

“If taking bullets means higher fuel prices, record unemployment, and families skipping meals, then we do not need martyrs in Aso Rock. We need competent leaders who would fix the challenges of our nation at this critical moment ,” he stated.

He said Onanuga’s statement is laughable and an attempt to mock suffering Nigerians.

He called on Nigerians to remain steadfast in their pursuit of electing leaders that make the citizenry the focal point of their administration.
