The National Association of Political Correspondents (NAPOC) has congratulated one of its distinguished members, Professor Abiodun Adeniyi, on his appointment as the new Vice Chancellor of Baze University, Abuja.
The announcement was made by NAPOC Coordinating Committee Chairman, Deba Uwadiae, who described the appointment as “a historic and proud moment” for the association and the Nigerian media community.
“The news of your appointment has been received with immense pride across our association. Professor Adeniyi’s rise to the helm of Baze University is a fitting recognition of his distinguished career as a scholar, academic administrator, and consummate professional,” Uwadiae said.
Professor Adeniyi, who previously served as Registrar of Baze University, was praised for his administrative acumen, institutional vision, and dedication to academic excellence. His selection followed a competitive process overseen by the Founder and Chairman of the Board of Trustees, Senator Datti Baba-Ahmed, affirming the merit and integrity of his appointment.
NAPOC described Professor Adeniyi’s journey from political correspondence to academic leadership as “an inspiration to media professionals nationwide” and expressed confidence that his tenure would usher in transformative growth, innovation, and impactful research at the university.
Uwadiae added, “NAPOC stands ready to support Professor Adeniyi in his new role and pledges solidarity as he embarks on this noble mandate.”
