Nigerian artiste Slimm J has described his music as a reflection of survival, resilience, and hope for listeners navigating life’s challenges.

According to him, his creative direction is rooted in real-life experiences and the determination to keep pushing despite setbacks.

He made this known while announcing plans to release a new single titled Let Me Be in June, which will precede a five-track extended play (EP) titled Keep Going, scheduled for release in July 2026.

The singer disclosed that the forthcoming projects will reflect themes of endurance, identity and survival, continuing the narrative introduced in his 2025 project, True Story 2 (Hustlers Anthem).

According to the artiste, Let Me Be explores the pressures young people face while trying to remain authentic amid personal and societal struggles.

“My music is about hustle, survival and resilience. It speaks to every hard working person out there and gives them hope of a better future,” says Slimm J.

Slimm J, who has been active in Nigeria’s music scene since 2019, said the upcoming EP would document his journey as an emerging act navigating the realities of the industry without major label backing.

The singer has continued to distinguish himself through emotionally driven storytelling centred on hustle, delayed success and resilience themes that resonate strongly with young listeners.

Unlike many new acts focused on viral trends and online attention, Slimm J’s music has gradually built a loyal audience through consistency and relatable experiences.

The artiste’s previous project, True Story 2 (Hustlers Anthem), released in September 2025, drew attention within underground music circles for its raw commentary on ambition, pressure and survival.

With Let Me Be and Keep Going expected in the coming weeks, Slimm J appears poised to strengthen his presence within Nigeria’s evolving music landscape.
