Frontline gubernatorial aspirant in the opposition,People’s Democratic Party (PDP) in Kwara state,Alh Ladi Hassan has described himself as sellable candidate among others and urged the stakeholders in the party to consider him in the consensus arrangement to fly the party’s flag.

He said this in ilorin on Monday in an interview with journalists at the party secretariat, after obtaining his Expression of Interest Form to contest for governorship election in 2027.

According to him,”as far as all the aspirants are concerned I’m the most experienced in the length of service, politically and even in age because as they say ,age is wisdom.

“I have the knowledge of the party, even in the state,I’m a state boy .Im a local boy,I schooled here ,I had my primary and secondary school education in ilorin and went to university of Lagos for my degree program and came back to ilorin for my masters program.

“I started work here before I went back to Lagos to work and came back again to ilorin to work ,so iv been in and out of Kwara,I’m not only an ilorin indigene,I know Kwara in and out,I’m a Kwara boy.Thats why my candidacy will help the party.”

The aspirant who was a former Chief of Staff and two-time commissioner, during the era of Dr Bukola Saraki as the governor of Kwara state added that,”I’m a sellable person,I have the reach across the regions ,my network is good,I have friends across Kwara state.

“Everyone in the party knows me,I have the experience I started from the root, and climbing the ladder,I’m about to climb the topmost of the ladder now,so the stakeholders should consider me in this consensus arrangement, and entrust me to fly the flag of the party.

“I also have the knowledge of the people I want to govern,I have lived with them and I know where it pains because I’m one of them .So becoming the governor means one of them who knows where it pains is there to take our people out of poverty. so I can combine both experiences together for the advantage of our people.
I’m like more or less a cosmopolitan Kwara, who’ll be able to address all issues ,so I stand out among all the aspirants.”

On tackling the challenge of insecurity in the state,he said,”as a local boy I will be able to address the problems of insecurity with local intelligence since I live among the people.

“People causing it are not spirit, they live among us, though the bandits don’t live with us but their informants live with us so as a local boy I understand the terrain and as a local boy I don’t need anybody to tell me ,the person who can solve the challenge of insecurity is someone who’s also part of the people who really knows where the problem originate from, so it’s a privilege and Kwara will be happy if somebody like me is given the opportunity .”he stressed.

He further said,”Look at the people who came around with me to the party secretariat and followed me home we are all local boy, local women .
We have known ourselves from the grassroots and we have been relating since then, here you’ll see carpenter, plumber and other artisans here all of them ,we all grew together. These are the people who’ll be giving you information and be telling you what’s happening in the society.
So.problem of insecurity will never be a challenge for someone to solve within a short time.”

Chairman of the party,Hon Adamu Issa Bawa in his remark described the aspirant as someone who doesn’t need introduction, assuring that the party won’t be partial with any of the aspirants.

He reminded the aspirant of the meeting held with all of them where they all conceded to consensus arrangement, urging him to caution his supporters against doing anything that would work against his interest.

“The consensus arrangement is ongoing,we are watching the aspirants and studying them to know who’ll be the best for us.I will like to implore you to caution your supporters not to go against the stipulated rules and regulations of the party.” he said.
