THE Deputy Governor of Lagos State, Dr Obafemi Hamat, yesterday, urged members of the All Progressives Congress, APC, to aggressively mobilise with utmost dedication and loyalty, to enable President Bola Tinubu to be re-elected and the APC to win the governorship polls in the state.

Hamzat said “it is important that we must come out to vote,” adding that “we must deliver Nigeria to President Bola Ahmed Tinubu next year.”

The deputy governor spoke at the ‘Special Congregational Prayer for President Tinubu’ organised by the Renewed Hope Network at the Tafawa Balewa Square, Onikan, Lagos.

The prayer session was officiated by the Chairman of Christian Association of Nigeria, CAN, in Lgos State, Rev. Stephen Adegbite, and a Muslim cleric, Alhaji Abdulrahman Lawal.

Prayers were offered for President Tinubu, First Lady Senator Oluremi Tinubu, Hamzat and the peace of Nigeria and Lagos.

At the event, which was attended by members of the Lagos State progressive family, unions, ethnic nationalities, youths and women groups, President Tinubu was endorsed for re-election and Hamzat was endorsed for governor.

Speakers, including Governor Babajide Sanwo-Olu, Oyinlomo Danmole, leader of the group, House of Representatives member James Faleke, the convener, former Kogi State Governor Yahaya Bello, and House of Assembly Speaker Mudashiru Obasa, justified Tinubu’s endorsement by highlighting his achievements across the sectors.

They also noted that the Lagos APC is in one accord on the endorsement of Hamzat as Sanwo-Olu’s successor.

Hamzat, who thanked the congregation, observed that Sanwo has laid a good foundation in Lagos, adding that “it will be easy to build on it.”

Hailing the endorsement of the president, the deputy governor said: “Our father must continue the job he is doing to save Nigeria.”

Governor Sanwo-Olu, who led the Governance Advisory Council, GAC, members, said: “On behalf of all the leaders of GAC, we endorse President Bola Tinubu and Deputy Governor Dr Obafemi Hamzat.”

Bello, former Kogi governor, applauded President Tinubu, recalling that he played a role in his ascension to power in the Confluence State.

He also thanked him for the political opportunities given to Kogites in Lagos, including Faleke.

Bello, a senatorial aspirant in Kogi Central, said: “Mr. President, you cannot be tired. Continue to provide leadership for the younger generation. You have paid your dues on activism and leadership. You don’t need to come to Kogi for campaign. We assure you of 100 percent of our votes.”

On the deputy governor, he said:”Hamzat is loyal, intelligent, dedicated, and patient. He is being elected unopposed. We will also emulate that in Kogi.”

Obasa, who described Hamzat as a loyal and formidable candidate, urged party faithful to begin the mobilisation by reaching out to Lagosians across the state.”

Faleke, who conducted the endorsements, said: “If each of us can bring two voters on poll day, all will be okay. “

He added:”Today’s is a unified gathering. President Tinubu has done well in the last three years, laying the foundation for economic and infrastructural development.

“Look at the support base. Those outside (TBS) are more than those inside. Lagos is APC and by the grace of God, it will remain APC. Don’t listen to the container economist who is moving from one party to the other. He is telling lies.”
