The Federal University of Allied Health Sciences Enugu, FUAHSE, has disclosed its opened door for professional medical opportunities in Nigeria.
The University said that it was ensuring that it’s facilities are intended to open new frontiers for the production of further medical professionals in the country who will help to actualize the federal government’s initiative on healthcare delivery in the country.
Vice Chancellor of the University, Prof John Emaimo made the disclosure when he received the management of National Postgraduate Medical College of Nigeria, NPMCN, in the FUAHSE campus, on Tuesday.
The NPMCN management was in the university to inform and invite FUAHSE to its forthcoming 20th Annual Scientific Conference and All Fellows’ Congress, ASCAF, scheduled to hold from August 3 to August 7, 2026, in Enugu.
Emaimo noted some of the University programmes such as Speech Therapy were aimed at producing divergent healthcare manpower for the nation, and expressed the institution’s readiness to partner with professionals such as NPMCN in the nation’s healthcare development.
“Our doors are open for professionals to come in and offer improved medical practices for the Nation and we are happy to work with you,” Emaimo stated.
The Vice Chancellor expressed happiness in meeting with some of finest medical practitioners in the country such as as operator of the only neurosurgical hospital in Nigeria, Prof Sean Ohaegbulam, emphasising that FUAHSE has a lot in common with NPMCN in producing medical manpower need of Nigeria and beyond.
Earlier, the President of NPMCN, Prof Anthony Ikefuna stated that the mandate of the Postgraduate medical college was the regulation of Resident doctors as a parastatal of the Federal Government Ministry of Health, charged with the responsibility of postgraduate training of medical and dental doctors in Nigeria.
The NPMCN delegation included Prof. Temitope A. Sean, the College Registrar; Prof. Emmanuel Jeje, Chairman of the Ceremonial Committee; Prof. Enweani, Chairman of the Local Organising Committee; Dr. Akpe James, Secretary of the Local Organising Committee; Prof. Osita Ezenwosu, Deputy Secretary of the Local Organising Committee; Prof. Sean Ohaegbulam, member of the Advisory Team; and Dr. Ejim, a Cardiologist and member of the team.
