Ekiti Parapo College Ido-Ekiti Dynamic ’80 Set Alumni Association plans to establish, among other things, e-library and sick infirmary in the school.
The Set also plans to carry out a landscaping project in its alma mater while instituting an insurance scheme for its members.
These were contained in a communique issued after a three-day strategic retreat held by the Executive Committee of the Dynamic ’80 Set in Ibadan under the theme: ‘Repositioning Dynamic ’80 Set for Purposeful Service and Sustainable Impact’. The primary objective was to articulate a clear vision, strengthen internal cohesion and develop impactful projects aimed at advancing the school and members’ growth and development.
Rising from the retreat, their President, Dr Abiodun Abe, and General Secretary, Mr Tayo Aluko, in the communique, said the e-library project would be delivered to the school as part of efforts to promote academic excellence, digital literacy, research culture, and access to global educational resources for students and staff.
They stated: “In recognition of the importance of healthcare and student wellbeing, the Association approved the establishment of an infirmary within the school premises to provide basic medical support and emergency healthcare services.
“The Executive Committee resolved to embark on the beautification of the frontage of the school through landscaping, planting of ornamental trees, flowers, and other greenery aimed at improving the aesthetic appeal and environmental ambience of the institution.
“As part of efforts to preserve and promote cultural heritage and extracurricular development, the Association approved the acquisition of drums and related musical instruments for the school’s Cultural Club.
“The Association resolved to institute annual cash awards for the best graduating students in JSS 2 and SSS 2 respectively, in order to encourage academic excellence, healthy competition, diligence, and discipline among students.
“The retreat also approved the development of an insurance/welfare scheme for members of the Association as part of measures to strengthen mutual support, security, and collective wellbeing among members.
“The Executive Committee reaffirmed its commitment to maintaining a cordial and productive relationship with the National Body and to work collaboratively towards the overall upliftment, progress, and sustainable development of the school.”
