High Chief Olanrewaju Bashorun, popularly known as LARRYBASH, has emerged as the All Progressives Congress, APC, candidate for the House of Representatives seat in Ado-Odo/Ota Federal Constituency ahead of the 2027 general election.

Bashorun secured victory at the party’s primary election conducted across the 16 wards of the constituency on Saturday.

Announcing the result at the Ado-Odo/Ota Local Government Secretariat, the Returning Officer, Dr. Samuel Ibidapo Odukoya, said Bashorun polled 17,740 votes to clinch the party’s ticket and was subsequently declared winner of the exercise.

Odukoya noted that the primary election was conducted peacefully and in compliance with laid down electoral guidelines.

Officials of the Independent National Electoral Commission, INEC, monitored the exercise in line with the provisions of the Electoral Act, while security operatives were deployed across the constituency to maintain law and order during the process.

The primary attracted a large turnout of party executives, chieftains, delegates and members from the constituency, with supporters attributing the participation to Bashorun’s grassroots popularity and political influence within Ado-Odo/Ota Federal Constituency.

Speaking shortly after his emergence, Bashorun expressed appreciation to party leaders, delegates and supporters for the confidence reposed in him.

“I want to sincerely thank the leadership of our great party, the delegates and all supporters who stood by me throughout this process. This victory belongs to everyone committed to the progress of Ado-Odo/Ota Federal Constituency,” he said.

He pledged to run an issue-based campaign focused on development, quality representation and unity of the constituency ahead of the 2027 general election.
According to him, “Our campaign will be centred on the needs of the people. We will continue to engage our communities and pursue programmes that will bring meaningful development, effective representation and inclusive growth to our constituency.”

Bashorun also assured party members of his commitment to strengthening unity within the APC and advancing the interests of the constituency if elected into the House of Representatives in 2027.
