Lagos State Governor, Babajide Sanwo-Olu, has described President Bola Tinubu’s victory in the primary exercise as a reflection of the trust and confidence reposed in his leadership by millions of the party faithful.

Sanwo-Olu made the remarks in a congratulatory message on Tinubu’s emergence as the Presidential Candidate of the All Progressives Congress, APC, in the presidential election scheduled to hold across the country, come January 2027, describing the victory as well deserved.

Sanwo-Olu, in a statement issued on Monday and signed by his Special Adviser, Media and Publicity, Gboyega Akosile, commended members of the APC in the country for the peaceful conduct of the election.

He added that the party executives of various States and the National Working Committee (NWC) deserved commendations for delivering well-organised primary elections.

According to Sanwo-Olu, “I congratulate our Leader and President, His Excellency Bola Ahmed Tinubu, GCFR, on his emergence as the presidential candidate of the APC for the 2027 election.

“This victory reflects the confidence and trust that party members across the country continue to place in his leadership and his commitment to building a better Nigeria.

“The adoption of direct primaries also demonstrates our party’s commitment to strengthening internal democracy by giving members a stronger voice in the selection process.”

Sanwo-Olu lauded the leadership of the country by President Tinubu, particularly the president’s economic policy, aimed at improving the country’s economy.

“Over the last few years, President Tinubu has taken important decisions aimed at stabilising the economy and laying the foundation for long-term growth. At critical moments, leadership requires courage and the willingness to take decisions that will move the country forward.

“I am confident that Nigerians will continue to support a vision built on courage and sustainable progress. The journey continues, and together, we will keep working towards a nation that gives every citizen a fair opportunity to succeed,” the governor said.
