The Ogun State Commissioner for Forestry, Engr. Taiwo Oludotun, has congratulated Senator Olamilekan Adeola, popularly known as Yayi, on his emergence as the All Progressives Congress, APC, governorship candidate for the 2027 election in Ogun State.
Oludotun described Adeola’s victory at the party’s governorship primary conducted across the 20 local government areas of the state as a clear reflection of the confidence, trust and acceptance he enjoys among party members and stakeholders.
In a statement made available to journalists, the Commissioner said the successful conduct and outcome of the primary election further underscored the unity, stability and growing strength of the APC in Ogun State.
According to him, Senator Adeola’s emergence marks a significant milestone in the political development of the state and also strengthens the long-standing aspiration of Ogun West stakeholders for greater inclusion in the leadership structure of Ogun State.
He noted that the overwhelming support received by the senator from delegates and party faithful across the state was an indication of his wide grassroots appeal and political relevance.
Oludotun expressed confidence in Adeola’s capacity to provide purposeful leadership, noting that the senator possesses the competence, exposure and administrative experience required to sustain the pace of growth and development in the state.
The commissioner also commended party leaders and stakeholders for ensuring a peaceful, transparent and credible primary election process, describing the exercise as a victory for democracy and internal party cohesion within the APC.
He specifically appreciated President Bola Ahmed Tinubu, elder statesman Chief Olusegun Osoba, Governor Dapo Abiodun, former governors of Ogun State and other APC leaders for their roles and support toward the successful emergence of Senator Adeola as the party’s flag bearer.
Oludotun further stated that the unity displayed by party leaders during the primary election would strengthen the APC ahead of the 2027 general election.
He urged party members across the state to remain united, focused and committed to the collective interest of the APC, stressing that victory in the general election would require sustained grassroots mobilization and cooperation among stakeholders.
“Senator Adeola’s emergence is a product of dedication, consistency and the confidence reposed in him by party faithful across the state,” Oludotun stated.
“I congratulate him on this well-deserved victory and wish him success as preparations begin for the 2027 governorship election.”
The commissioner reaffirmed his commitment to the continued growth and success of the APC in Ogun State, expressing optimism that the party would record another electoral victory under the leadership of Senator Adeola.
