In recognition of his achievements in the field of medicine, the founder of The Prostate Clinic, Prof Kingsley Ekwueme has been installed as the Banagan Kabi of the Argungu Emirate of Kebbi in a colourful traditional ceremony.
The coronation, done by His Royal Highness Alh. Sama’ila Muhammad Mera CON, Emir of Argungu was also witnessed by His Excellency the Governor.
The coronation which took place at the Emir’s Palace attracted traditional rulers, family members, friends, and professional colleagues who gathered to witness the emergence of the renowned surgeon into royal leadership.
Speaking during the event, dignitaries described Ekwueme as a distinguished professional whose life has been marked by excellence, discipline, and service.
They said his elevation was a recognition of his personal achievements and character.
At the venue, cultural displays and royal rites reflected the deep traditions of the emirate, with elders emphasising the significance of continuity and leadership within the community’s historical lineage.

Family members expressed joy over his elevation, describing him as a source of pride and inspiration to the family. Friends and colleagues also paid glowing tributes, describing him as humble, hardworking, and highly dedicated to his profession.
Among the important dignitaries at the event includes; Alhaji Francis Ogboro, and Dan Darman Kabi among others.
A close associate, Pharmacist Frederick Nduka Okonkwo, said Ekwueme had always stood out as a leader from his early years, noting that his humility and charisma set him apart.
With the installation, Ekwueme now assumes traditional responsibilities within the emirate, joining the lineage of leaders entrusted with cultural preservation and community guidance.
The ceremony ended with prayers and goodwill messages, with attendees expressing confidence that his tenure would bring honour and progress to the emirate.
