NCDMB, Bellazir Ltd conclude welding, fabrication training for 50 Abia Youths

The Nigerian Content Development and Monitoring Board (NCDMB), in collaboration with Bellazir Energy Ltd, has concluded a training programme on steel welding and fabrication for 50 youths in Abia State.

The initiative forms part of efforts to equip young Nigerians with practical skills in technical trades.

Participants drawn from diverse backgrounds underwent hands-on training designed to enhance their capabilities in welding and fabrication.

Speaking at the closing ceremony, Operations Manager of Bellazir Ltd, David Daniels, expressed appreciation to NCDMB for the collaboration and opportunity to implement the programme.

“We are honoured to partner with NCDMB on this initiative, and we are encouraged by the progress recorded by the participants,” he said.

Daniels also encouraged sustained investment in similar programmes, noting their potential to support youth development and skills acquisition.

Participants commended the organisers for the structure of the training and the commitment of the facilitators, noting that the experience had improved their technical knowledge and employability prospects.

The programme covered key areas such as safety procedures, equipment handling, and practical aspects of welding and fabrication, including basic project execution.

The training aligns with NCDMB’s broader mandate to support capacity development and promote local participation in Nigeria’s oil and gas value chain. It is expected that beneficiaries will be better positioned to pursue opportunities in the welding and fabrication industry.
