KADUNA — The Senator representing Sunday Marshall Katung celebrated his birthday on Wednesday by extending support to orphans, widows, and other vulnerable groups across Southern Kaduna, reinforcing his commitment to humanitarian service.

Katung distributed food items, toiletries, detergents, and cash donations to three centres: Rafiki Orphanage Home, ECWA Widows’ Training School in Zangon Kataf Local Government Area, and the Gweimen Centre in Jaba Local Government Area.

The lawmaker described the gesture as part of his ongoing tradition of assisting the less privileged. “At a time like this, it is important to extend a hand of support to those in need and show compassion to the most vulnerable among us,” he said.

At Rafiki Orphanage Home, Hon. Yohanna Allahmagani, a former Commissioner for Local Government in Kaduna State, praised the initiative, highlighting that celebrating in such a setting reflects a leadership philosophy rooted in service and human connection rather than personal celebration.

Similarly, at the ECWA Widows’ Training Centre in Samaru Kataf, former Kaduna State House of Assembly member Mrs. Comfort Amwe said the donations would help ease the economic hardship faced by widows. She encouraged beneficiaries to continue praying for the senator’s success.

At the Gweimen Centre in Kwoi, Hon. Kingsley Musa commended Katung’s unwavering dedication to the welfare of underprivileged groups.

The Principal of the widows’ training school, Mrs. Sarah J. Bature, and the Executive Director of the Gweimen Centre, Dr. Beatrice Kadangs, expressed gratitude for the timely and impactful support. They noted that such interventions continue to sustain vulnerable groups and institutions in the region and prayed for God’s blessings on the senator.
