HoganHost acquires ZuumHost, expands digital infrastructure presence in Nigeria

By Peter Egwuatu

ABUJA – HoganHost, one of Africa’s fastest-growing web hosting and digital infrastructure companies, has officially acquired ZuumHost, integrating the Nigerian hosting provider as a subsidiary in a strategic move to strengthen its footprint in the country’s digital services market.

Under the acquisition, ZuumHost will continue to operate as an independent brand within the HoganHost corporate structure, maintaining existing customer relationships and service continuity while benefiting from enhanced infrastructure, technical support, and expanded product offerings.

Joseph Effiok Hogan, CEO of HoganHost, will serve as Chairman and CEO of ZuumHost, overseeing its strategic direction and integration, while Atim Hogan, Co-Founder of HoganHost, assumes the role of Vice Chairman to support governance and growth initiatives.

Founded by Oghenekparobor Emmanuel, ZuumHost has earned a strong reputation in Nigeria’s web hosting industry, particularly in domain registration and digital services for businesses, startups, and entrepreneurs. The company is an accredited registrar under the Nigeria Internet Registration Association (NIRA), expanding access to .ng domain names.

Industry analysts say HoganHost’s approach—retaining ZuumHost as a subsidiary—reflects a growing trend among African technology companies using multi-brand structures to scale efficiently while preserving brand identity. This model allows firms to serve diverse market segments without disrupting established user bases.

The acquisition also aligns with HoganHost’s continental ambitions. With existing domain accreditations in Uganda, Kenya, and South Africa, the company is positioning itself as a pan-African provider of hosting, cloud services, and domain infrastructure.

Commenting on the development, Joseph Effiok Hogan described the move as a strategic effort to enhance service delivery and support Africa’s evolving digital economy. “Integrating ZuumHost into HoganHost’s ecosystem will unlock new opportunities for innovation, improved reliability, and scalable solutions tailored to African businesses,” he said.

Customers are expected to experience a seamless transition, enjoying continued access to ZuumHost’s services alongside HoganHost’s expanded infrastructure and support network.

As demand for reliable digital platforms grows across Africa, HoganHost’s acquisition of ZuumHost underscores the rising influence of indigenous technology companies in shaping the continent’s digital future.
