
…Don urges host community on supportive environment

Osogbo — The Federal University of Agriculture and Development Studies Iragbiji (FUADSI) has commenced academic activities with the matriculation of 1,540 students across its faculties.
Speaking at the institution’s maiden matriculation ceremony held at its temporary site in Iragbiji, the Vice-Chancellor, Mufutau Atayese, said the newly admitted students were enrolled into faculties including Agriculture and Renewable Natural Resources, Natural and Applied Sciences, as well as Social and Management Sciences.
He assured that the university is committed to maintaining academic standards and ensuring that students complete their programmes within the stipulated period.
“I am happy to inform you that our university admitted one thousand five hundred and forty (1,540) foundation students who are matriculating today,” he said, adding that the institution is focused on advancing research and contributing to societal development.
Atayese noted that FUADSI has assembled qualified academic staff dedicated to training students to harness natural resources for the benefit of humanity.
In his lecture, guest speaker Ololade Enikuomehin urged the university management to uphold high standards in its quest to build a globally competitive institution.
He also emphasised the importance of fostering a cordial relationship with the host community, encouraging mutual cooperation to support the university’s growth and development.
