Digital economy: How individuals can drive meaningful change – Adedokun

The Chief Executive Officer of LearnSmart, Mr Sanni Adedokun, has said with the right guidance and opportunities, individuals of all ages can drive meaningful change and unlock limitless potential in today’s evolving business landscape.

He stated this in Ota, Ogun State during the formal inauguration of the company.

According to him, nobody is too old or young to benefit from the advantages of the digital age we are in, if they are exposed to the opportunity to learn the rudiments.

“LearnSmart is a start up dedicated to empowering entrepreneurial individuals, innovators, young minds, business leaders, and aspiring change makers – by equipping them with the knowledge and tools to thrive in the digital economy.

“LearnSmart Is a dynamic education and innovation enterprise committed to driving human capital development and digital empowerment across Nigeria and Africa. We started in 2024 and we operate at the intersection of technology, education and entrepreneurship. We equip individuals and institutions with the tools to thrive in a rapidly evolving digital economy. “Our mission is clear – to empower young Nigerians, especially students, women and early career professionals with the practical digital skills, innovation mindset and career pathways required to succeed in the 21st Century workplace.

“We operate under three integrated pillars: LearnSmart Tech Hive which is a hands-on learning hub offering programmes in software development, UI/UX design, data analytics, Cybersecurity and AI literacy with internship and job placement support through partner organizations.

He said the company is also working to support the federal government’s digital literacy and CBT-transition agenda by providing structured computer-based learning and certification programmes through training centres especially for students in public schools..

Speaking at the event, the Vice-Chancellor of Bells University of Technology, Ota, Prof. Jeremiah Ojediran, appealed to the Federal Government to make more concerted efforts to ensure stability in power supply in the country.

Ojediran, represented by the Institution ‘s Deputy Vice-Chancellor, Prof. Ngozi Arisa, the don emphasized the need for the federal government to work assiduously in providing stability in power supply to reduce the number of companies folding up.

He noted that any new company cannot survive without stable power supply as people spend so much money to generate electricity.

“This idea of establishing a company and also sourcing or generating electricity by yourself is killing businesses across the country.

“Also, that is the reason, why many young people are leaving or traveling out because there is no sustainability in whatever they established,” he said.

Ojediran said that the founder of LearnSmart is an alumnus of the institution, graduated with a first-class degree in Mechanical Engineering, adding that the university’s is committed to producing self-reliant graduates.
