The Center for Advanced Internet Studies (CAIS) in Bochum, Germany, has formally extended its congratulations to Dr Verlumun Celestine Gever following his promotion to the rank of Senior Lecturer at the University of Nigeria, Nsukka.
In an official statement issued on 1 April 2026, the institute leadership praised Dr Gever for his significant academic milestone and his ongoing contributions to the global research community.
Scientific Director Prof. Dr Christiane Eilders and CAIS College Director Dr Esther Laufer noted that during his fellowship in Germany, Dr Gever distinguished himself through outstanding dedication to his research and a remarkable commitment to advancing scholarly exchange.
This international recognition aligns with his standing as a world-class researcher, as Dr Gever is ranked among the top 2% of scientists worldwide according to the 2024 data analysis by Stanford University and Elsevier.
A central part of this global impact has been his leadership as the founder and Editor-in-Chief of the Ianna Journal of Interdisciplinary Studies (IJIS), which CAIS directors emphasised as a key highlight of his tenure. This international acclaim is echoed by scholars across the globe who have praised the journal’s rigorous standards.
Nguyen Van Tho from Ho Chi Minh University of Banking, Vietnam, commended the leadership of Dr Gever for maintaining professional and transparent editorial procedures that enhance the journal’s international reputation.
Similarly, Hasnah Ab Kadir of Universiti Malaysia Kelantan, Malaysia, highlighted that publishing in a Q1 interdisciplinary journal like IJIS contributes to the wider dissemination of research and strengthens global academic dialogue.
From Europe, Mohammad Fakhrul Islam of Széchenyi István University, Hungary, also expressed a highly positive experience, noting the journal’s commitment to quality and its role in promoting impactful interdisciplinary research.
The leadership at CAIS expressed great pleasure in seeing these achievements recognised, noting that the institute was proud to have supported him during such an important phase of his academic journey.
As Dr Gever assumes his new responsibilities in Nigeria, the German research centre extended its very best wishes for his continued success and stated that they look forward to following his future contributions to the global research community.
