The African Democratic Congress (ADC) in Borno State on Sunday inaugurated it’s new Executive members (EXCO) following their successful consensus which took place in Maiduguri last Saturday.
After the Consensus, Hon. Kolo Bukar, who was one time Chairman of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) in Borno, emerged as the new ADC State Chairman.
The inauguration which attracted party stalwarts including the leader of the party in the state, Alhaji Ibrahim Kashim Imam Matawalle took place at Barwee Luxury Suites, Gomari Airport in Maiduguri.
Chairman of the State Congress Committee, Hon. Musa Haliru said, his committee which has been working assidously in the last one week, were able to reach out for consensus that led to the peaceful conduct of the Congress.
Haliru said “the elections were conducted peacefully and in accordance with the party’s constitution and relevant laws.
“The African Democratic Congress (ADC) congratulates all newly elected State and Ward Executives on the successful and peaceful conduct of their congress”. He said.
Haliru enjoined all the newly elected executives to work with other stakeholders transparently and to be committed in uniting teaming members of the party so as to ensure victory come 2027 polls.
Addressing the new Executive members and the teaming supporters, the Leader of the party in the state, Alhaji Kashim Matawalle Imam noted that the process reflects the party’s commitment to democratic principles and internal governance.
“These elections, carried out in line with the provisions of the law and the party’s constitution, reflect the ADC’s enduring commitment to internal democracy, transparency, and the rule of law,” he said.
He commended party members and stakeholders for their conduct during the exercise, describing it as disciplined and purposeful. Stressing that, change must come from the top to bottom, alledging that “average Nigerians are tired of the APC led administration at the national, sub-national and local levels”.
In a vote of thanks, the state ADC Chairman, Hon Kolo Bukar thanked members of the Congress Committee, stakeholders and the teaming supporters for the confidence reposed in them to serve and dislodge APC come 2027.
He promised that his led -Exco would work with an open door policy, inclusivity to ensure victory at all levels.
Apart from the Chairman who unanimously emerged through consensus, Barrister Abdu Jidda as Deputy Chairman, Mallum Musa Ngulde as Secretary, Baba Ahmed Mustapha as Publicity Secretary, while Maryam Ibrahim as Women Leader among others also formed the State leadership.
