LAGOS — Baseline Media and Entertainment, a leading African entertainment and media company, has launched a new digital television platform, Base TV, aimed at amplifying youth voices, real-life stories, and culturally relevant conversations across the continent.

Described as “The Pulse of a New Generation,” Base TV is designed as a fully digital platform focused on informing, entertaining, and engaging young audiences through authentic storytelling, street-level perspectives, and youth-driven discussions.

The platform will distribute content primarily through Instagram and other social media channels, enabling wide accessibility and real-time interaction with viewers.

According to the company, the launch of Base TV strengthens its growing digital ecosystem, which already includes BaseFM and other media initiatives targeted at shaping culture, promoting African voices, and expanding storytelling platforms.

Speaking on the development, the Managing Director of Baseline Media and Entertainment, Abosede Shafe, said Base TV represents a strategic expansion of the company’s mission to build platforms that reflect the realities of young people.

She noted that the platform is designed to “capture real conversations, elevate authentic stories, and create a space where culture is documented as it is lived.”

Beyond its digital media operations, Baseline Media and Entertainment has built a strong reputation in entertainment production, including the organisation of high-profile international concerts and luxury showcases featuring global music icons such as Tevin Campbell, Brandy, Maxwell, Joe, Ashanti, Blackstreet, and New Edition.

The company has also worked with leading African artistes including Olamide, Seyi Shay, and Darey Art Alade, and has managed talents such as Aramide, Skales, and Saeon.

With the launch of Base TV, Baseline Media and Entertainment says it is further advancing its goal of building a multi-dimensional entertainment ecosystem that connects music, media, and culture across Africa and beyond.
