Zambia’s President, Hakainde Hichilema, has confirmed he will serve as Keynote Speaker at the World Public Relations Forum (WPRF) scheduled to hold in Abuja, Nigeria, in November.
The confirmation was disclosed by Zambia’s Information Minister, Cornelius Mweetwa, during a meeting with a delegation from the African Public Relations Association (APRA) and the Nigerian Institute of Public Relations (NIPR).
This was contained in a statement issued in Abuja by the Director of Public Relations at NIPR, Stanley Ogadigo.
Speaking while receiving the delegation in Lusaka, Mweetwa said President Hichilema accepted the invitation with humility, describing the visit as timely and significant.
“The President does not take your invitation lightly but accepts it with great humility to serve as Keynote Speaker at this important global forum,” he said.
Earlier, NIPR President, Ike Neliaku, noted that the global event offers Africa a platform to shape international communication narratives, adding that Nigeria is fully prepared to host the world. He also confirmed that Bola Ahmed Tinubu will serve as Chief Host.
Neliaku further revealed that Nigeria’s Minister of Information and National Orientation, Mohammed Idris, will host an African Information Ministers Roundtable as part of the forum.
Nigeria will host the WPRF on behalf of Africa, bringing together global stakeholders in public relations and communication.
