The Africa Centre of Excellence for Sustainable Power and Energy Development (ACE-SPED), University of Nigeria, Nsukka (UNN), has taken part in global engagements on artificial intelligence, energy, and innovation.
The Director of ACE-SPED, Prof. Emenike Ejiogu, alongside Prof. Allon Razgour, recently visited the Metal Industries Research and Development Centre in Taiwan between 17-20th March, 2026, as part of efforts to strengthen international collaboration.
The team, which included Project Manager, Kueiling Yun-Hibbs, held discussions focused on innovation, knowledge exchange, and identifying areas for strategic partnership in sustainable industrial and technological development.
The visit forms part of broader participation in global conversations on digital and green transformation, particularly within the framework of the Smart City Summit and Expo (SCSE) 2026.
The event is expected to bring together city leaders, industry stakeholders, investors, and exhibitors from across the world to explore opportunities in smart city development, with emphasis on artificial intelligence, renewable energy, and sustainable infrastructure.
Organisers say the summit aligns with global efforts to achieve net-zero emissions by 2050, providing a platform for showcasing solutions that support resilient and environmentally sustainable cities.
Discussions at the forum are also expected to highlight next-generation AI-driven urban systems, innovative approaches to energy management, and advancements in smart healthcare technologies within evolving city.
